Veteran Grandmaster and theoretician Eduard Yefemovich Gufeld passed
away in Los Angeles, USA. Eduard Gufeld was born on 19th March 1936 and died
on 23rd September 2002. He had a long association with India,
playing several GM tournaments in India, two decades back and was
also the Indian coach for Olympiads. He has authored lot of books
and his contribution to chess theory is invaluable. Given below are
