Sudarsana and Kishore Kumar clinch titles
|

L Sudarsana and V Kishore Kumar bagged the 5th Salem Chess Trust District Level
Children's Chess tournament title in the U - 19, U - 12 Boys and Girls combined tournament held at Oxford School, Salem on 23rd and 24th of June. A total of 115 entries were there and U - 19 section had seven rounds while U - 12 section had eight rounds. V Kishore Kumar with 6.5 points was announced the winner by toss, since the runner-up S Arun Prasad was also tied with same points, tiebreak score and even the progressive scores. In U - 12 section L Sudarsana with 7.0 points finished clear first.
Prize distribution function was held at the same venue. Salem Chess Trust Director Thirumal Rao delivered the welcome speech. The prizes were given away by Mrs
Vijaya - Salem District Sports Officer, Mrs Sreemathi Jagannathan - Salem District Chess Association President, Mrs Kamala and Mrs Geetha. Salem Chess Trust Managing Trustee T S Krishnamoorthy proposed vote of thanks.
