takes the title in tie break |

University star Ramkrishna Kashelkar
of Maharashtra took the title in a tie break scoring 9.0 points from
ten rounds in the Rochess International Rating chess tournament,
Mumbai. IM Norm holder and favorite R R Laxman of Tamil Nadu also
logged in 9.0 points but finished second with a lower tie break. It
was a fine show from Kashelkar who remained undefeated and took the
title with an impressive show of eight wins and two draws. Soumitra
Mazumdar of Pune won the blitz tournament conducted on the last day of
the event.
