| Laltu Chatterjee emerges champion |
|
Laltu Chatterjee today emerged champion with six points in the Hooghly District chess championship, organised by Hind Motor Chess Club at the Dinen Smriti Bhavan.
Arindam Mukherjee also earned six points, but Laltu won the title and the Rs 1,500 purse by virtue of a better progressive score. Arindam got Rs 1,000. Probir Kangsabanik was third (5.5) and got Rs 700. Sampat Mullick
(5.0) and Priyanka Das (3.0) won the boys’ and girls’ under-14 titles.
