Indian Oil Coporation clinched the winners trophy in the Inter-Petroleum Championship held at Khandala recently. The star studded IOC team comprising of GM Abhijit
Kunte, IM D V Prasad (Captain), IM R B Ramesh, FM T S Ravi and S S Ganguly scored a total of 18 points to finish
ahead of the ONGC which was lead by GM K Sasikiran. The previous yera winners ONGC collected a total of 15.5 points from the five rounds. The hosts Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited finished third with a tally of 12 points.

(IOC), International Masters V Koshy (ONGC), R B Ramesh (IOC), Suryasekhar Ganguly
(IOC), T S Ravi (IOC) won the medals for individual performances.
Lanka Ravi finishes first
In the individual championship which was conducted as per the Swiss system, IM Lanka
Ravi (ONGC) emerged victorious scoring seven points from nine rounds. IM D V Prasad
(IOC) who also scored seven points was placed second on account of his tie-break score while GM K Sasikiran
(ONGC) took the third spot with 6.5 points.
Lanka Ravi remained unbeaten and scored an impressive victory over Grandmaster K. Sasikiran in the eighth and penultimate round.
