M. Paramasivam of Aruppukkottai won the fourth State level open chess tournament conducted by the Pearl City Chess Association at Tuticorin during Dec. 2000, scoring 8.5 points. P. Maheswaran of Sivakasi won the Under - 17 title with a score of 9.5 points.
