Women "B" Chess Championship at Sangli. Defending champion Saheli Barua of
Railways drew her game with World Under 18 Champion Aarthie Ramaswamy of TN, both remain
half a point behind the leader.

players in the lead Five players
including top seed International Woman Master Mrunalini Kunte of Maharashtra are leading
with three points in the 26th National Women "B" Chess Championship after three
rounds at Sangli. World Under 18 Women Champion Aarthie Ramaswamy TN, Saheli Barua Rly,
Sai Meera Ravi Indian Bank and Bindu Saritha LIC are the other four leaders with three
points.
IWM Anupama Gokhale PSCB, Nisha Mohota WB, S.Meenakshi TN
and IWM Pallavi Shah LIC are in the second spot with 2.5 points. The tournament has
attracted 5 IWMs and 17 of the 64 players are FIDE Rated. It is the first FIDE rated Women
"B"event in India and it was inaugurated by Rani Raja Matha Raj Bhatwardan,
Queen of Sangli on Saturday Nov. 14th '99.
