Calicut |
| The Brio trophy All India FIDE
Rated Chess tournament at Calicut saw talented Venkataramana of ICF, Chennai, emerging a
clear winner ahead of fancied players. In the eleven-player round robin, Venkataramana led
from the front and looked a winner right through. He beat former National "A"
player N. Abdul Majeed of Kerala in the final round to take the title ahead of Girinath.
Despite losing the last round to Muraleedharan, of Kerala. Girinath managed to take a
clear second place. Final Placing
