India Inter-Universities Tournament, BITS, Pilani |
| Every year a hoard of students
from Chennai migrate to the the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani,
Rajasthan, to pursue their higher education. Well, this time, for a change, a few went
there to play Chess and win! The Madras University Chess team bagged the Silver medal at
the All India Inter Universities team Chess Championship held at BITS, Pilani, from
December 19th to 25th . Madras University Blues
Madras University scored 19 points to
finish second behind the winners, University of Pune. The team from Chennai comprised
G. Dinesh Kumar (Captain) (Loyola College),
T. V. Karhikeyan (Loyola), C. J. Aravind (Loyola ) , Aarthie Ramaswamy ( Vaishnav College for Women ) , Rajesh ( Law college) and Navaneethakrishnan
(Loyola college).
