 Fide rated R. Preetham Sharma (Sethu Baskara
M.H.S.S) and Lakshmi K. Rajagopalan (Bhaktavatsalam Vidyashram) won the District U-18 Boys
& Girls Chess Championship and lifted the Vishual Rolling Trophies respectively. This
was organized by T.D.C.A. with the sponsorship of P.P.S. Auto Electrical Service and
Vishal Travels Ltd., which recently concluded at the Bhaktavatsalam Vidyashram, Periyar
Nagar, Korattur, Chennai - 80.The Prize
Distribution function was held in a grand manner and Mr. S. Jayaprakash, President,
Federation of Residential Welfare Association Charitable Trust, Korattur, presided over
the function. Mr. P.R. Varadharajan, Prop. P.P.S. Auto Electrical Service and Vishal
Travels Ltd., Chief Guests of the evening distributed the prizes to the winners.
The selection championship attracted a large number of
youngsters, 70 in all. The top three players, from each category, represented T.D.C.A. in the T.N.
State U-18 Boys & Girls Chess Championship organized by the Sivagangai District Chess
Association at Devakottai from 29th November to 5th December '99.
