Saravanakrishnan of Modern SSS with 4.5 points from five rounds, and Lalitha Raghavendran of Mahakavi Bharathi Govt. HSS with 5.5 points from six rounds bagged the boys' and girls' title respectively in the Kancheepuram District Junior chess championship at Chennai recently.
Saravanakrishnan won the title with sole lead in the boys section while Lalitha Raghavendran and Pon N Krithiga of Modern SSS, both tied for the top spot with equal points, in the girls section. But Lalitha Raghavendran was declared winner on her better progressive tie-break score.

Nagarajan, Superintendent - Cooperative Societies of Tamil Nadu. The top five in each section will represent the district in the State Junior meet to be held later this month.
