 P. Kumaresh PSBB emerged as Champion in Under-18
category of Linkindia Chennai District Children's Chess Championship. In the fourth and
final round of this M/s. Agil Freight sponsored event, Kumaresh defeated R. Venkat Loyola
to take his tally to 3.5 points J. Karthik PSBB finished Runner-Up with 3 points.
Two players, namely, R. Muthukumaran PAKP
and R. Siddarth St. Joseph's tied with 4.5 points each at the end of the fifth round in
the Under-14 Boy's section. As the tie-break scores were also equal, spin of coin method
was used and Muthukumaran was declared the Champion. In a six player league event, R.
Niranjini outwitted the overnight leader Anneqha Tahseen SKMHSS to win the title with 4.5
points out of five rounds. Aneeqha finished second with 4 points.
In the Under-12 Boys' section, V. Haribalu
St. Johns drew his sixth and final round game with K. Abhishek PSBB to become the Champion
with 5.5 points. S.M. Syed Moosa Asan Memorial won the second prize with 5 points.
R. Sushmitha SKMHSS, N. Raghavi PSBB and V.
Manonmani Rosary tied with 4 points each at the end of five rounds in the Under-12 Girls'
section and they finished in  that order on account of a tie-break score.

Freight Logistics Pvt. Ltd. Chennai were conducted at the Indian Red Cross Society on
20-11-1999 and 21-11-1999 and attracted 90 entries. Mr. V. Kameswaran, Vice-President,
TNCA presided over the Prize Distribution function.Mr. Johnson Sundaraj, HRD Executive of
M/s. Agil Freight Logistics P. Ltd. gave away the prizes.
