V. Hari Balu (St.John's) and Nilavoli (PHS HS) won the under-18 boys' and girls' titles in a State-Level chess tournament conducted jointly by Kottur Chess Academy and St. Mary's MHSS here recently;
The first three places carried a cash award of Rs. 3,000, Rs. 2,000 and Rs. 1,500 respectively. Justice P. Venugopal presided over the prize distribution function.
