| A V K Venkat, a first year
B.Com student of Loyola College, Chennai, won the LOYOLA CUP for Chess in the Bertram
Memorial Tournaments conducted by Loyola College on Aug 25th, 1999. He scored 7.5 points
the same as P. Rajesh of Law College, Chennai; but a better progessive score saw Venkat
clinch the title. In the final round, Venkat drew with college-mate Navaneetha Krishnan
while Rajesh drew with G. Vinod of Loyola College. Rev Father K. Amal, Director, All India
Catholic University Federation, gave away the prizes. Final Placings |
