India's premier
qualifying event, the National "B" Chess Championships is
scheduled to be held at Nagpur, Maharashtra. The 39th edition of National "B" Chess Championship is
organized by G H Raisoni Foundation, Nagpur on behalf of All India Chess
Federation. The tournament is being conducted by Vidharba Chess Association,
Nagpur, under the aegis of Maharashtra Chess Association, Mumbai.
Venue : G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Digdoh Hills, C R P F Gate No.3, Hingna Road, Nagpur - 440 016.

Eligibility
01) Each State Affiliated/Affiliated Unit and Special Members of the All India Chess Federation shall be entitled to send Four entries. If any Association/Affiliated Unit fails to send its full quota, the vacancies so caused shall
not be filled.
02) Two players each, from the AICF
recognized chess academies and special members.
03) The Host shall be entitled to field two players.
04) The first Twenty Two from the 38th National "B" championships held at
Jamshedpur.
05) The first Two from the National U-25 chess championship held at Bangalore.
06) Current National Junior Champion.
07) The Winner and Runner up of the latest National "B" Women championship.
08) Current National Junior Girls
champion.
09) Current World Champion
in any category.
10) Current Asian Junior champion & first Three from
last Asian Championship.
11) All International Masters above 2350 rating as per the January 2001 list.
12) All Board prize winners of the 24th National Team championship held at Nagpur.
13) Four players from the areas where no State Chess
Association exists.
14) Any player who donates Rs 5000/- (Ex-National "A" players Rs 3500/-).
15) A nominee of the Hon. Secretary of the
AICF.
16) All Women Grand Masters.
17) Player nominated by the Host Association, if the total entries is an odd number.
ONLY AICF REGISTERED PLAYERS ARE ELIGIBLE.
THE AICF REGISTRATION FEE IS Rs 300/- PER YEAR & IT IS COMPULSORY.
Entry Fee
01) Rs 700/- player selected/seeded per participant specified as mentioned in Eligibility Col., except Sl. No. 14.
02) Rs 5000/- per participant specified as mentioned in Eligibility Col., Sl. No. 14. (Rs 3500/- per participant for former National "A" player).

Late Fee: Rs 200/- in addition to the Entry and Registration Fee will be accepted from 22 06 2001 to 29 06 2001.
General Rules and
Regulations
01) The tournament will be played as per the laws of Chess and FIDE Swiss League system with updated modifications.
02) Tie Breaking rules are stipulated in the latest Tie breaking FIDE rules and regulations.
03) All protest should be lodged within one hour of the point
of dispute in writing with a protest fee of Rs 500/-.
04) Rate of play will be 90 minutes for 40 moves and all unfinished games will be played in sudden finish system of 30 minutes.
05) Each participating unit must provide
at least two chess clocks for every four player entered.
06) In case of all disputes the decision of the Tournament Committee shall be final and binding on all.
General
01) Free lodging will be provided for the following categories:
Outstation players in addition to the one official per state Association/Affiliated Unit.
Tournament Arbiters.
Office bearers of the AICF/MCA press personals.
For others - Rs 100/- per day at the venue itself, if intimated in advance.
02) Boarding will be provided on
subsidised rates.
Morning - Tea & Breakfast
Afternoon - Lunch
Evening - Tea & Refreshment
Night - Dinner
Package deal Rs 60/- per day payable in advance
for 14 days.
