Former
World Under 18 Girls Champion and WIM Aarthie Ramaswamy, sponsored by
WIPRO, got her second WGM Norm in the XXX Rilton Cup held at Stockholm,
Sweden from 27th December 2000 to 5th January 2001. Aarthe scored 5.5
points from 9 rounds to meet her target. Aarthie got her first WGM
Norm at the Goodricke International Open, Calcutta last year. With her
continuous schedule of more and tougher tournaments to play in Europe,
(Linares and Ubeda Open following the Stockholm event) Aarthie is
bound to complete her title requirements in double quick time.
Another Indian in the tourney was IM R B Ramesh of IOC, who finished
with a respectable score of 6.5/9 and is bound to get some Elo's from
the event.
