- Novikov champ in a tie break
|
|
Grandmaster Igor Novikov of Ukraine took the Foxwoods Open title with
5.5 points in a seven way tie for the first place. Also finishing with
5.5 points were Wojtkiewicz,
Ibragimov, Stripunsky, Kudrin, Maurice Ashley and William Paschall.
Indian globe trotter K Visweswaran logged in 4.0 points finishing in a
tie for the 24-35 places and just missed out on the prize list, under
his category, as his USCF Rating touched 2401. For Grandmaster
Novikov it was a family affair as his 15 year old daughter, Olga, won
the title in the Unrated Section.
