Yatsishin leads

Third seeded Yatsishin of Ukraine leads the first World cup for Blind with six points at the end of the seventh round at Bensaque in Spain. The top seeded Larduct , second seed Tamayo , both Cuba and the fifth seeded Suder,  Poland share the second spot with 5.5 points each.

The Indians in this  unique event organised by the International Blind Sports Association fared reasonably with Madan Bagayatkar scoring a memorable birthday victory over Bebowska of Poland and Shirish Patil defeating Sola of Spain respectively.

Madan moved to four points with a neat win with the Black pieces after he enchased his material advantage in a King and Pawn ending. Shirsh won in 42 moves in a game arising out of the closed variation of the Sicilian defence. While  Chrudaatta Jadhav lost to Berenguer of Germany, Vilesh managed to escape with a draw against Martins of Brazil.
