Open Chess Tournament, Nagpur Saurabh Kherdekar playing
with black pieces defeated Sushant Jumde in the 9th and final round, ended up with a total tally of 7.5 points sharing this tally with Pratik Shriwas. Akash Thakur the top seed of the tournament though beat Saurabh in the penultimate round, lost to Pratik Shriwas in the final round and hence was placed third with five others ending up with 6.5 points each. Mr Milind Bansode the Chief Guest on the occasion gave away the prizes.
Dr Vivek Vaidya was the guest of honour. The prizes were sponsored by Ranjit Sports Academy and announced by Pankaj Bhandarkar, General
